SET REQUIREMENTS
DasSHOKU Hora!! is a cabaret style performance with table seating within a blackbox venue. It is performed essentially in the round.
The stage consists of u-shaped rostra in 1mx2m sections at a height of 600mm which will be supplied by the venue (dimensions on attached staging plan). This rostra will be covered in black vinyl and skirted with black tat supplied by the touring party. Along the catwalk section of the rostra is a hinged trapdoor which is opened from under the stage (we will provide a rostra top with trapdoor). 2 sets of treads up to the rostra are needed as well as 1 small step ladder.
The 5 main set pieces are made from ply and steel frames and painted to look like gravestones. These constructions are structural as they are climbed on and used for storage of props. The show also tours with a large tree branch which is mounted on the .oor at the back of the set and secured from above from the lighting grid.
There are numerous props and costume changes involved in the show. These are mainly managed by the performers with assistance from the venue stage manager. Food products will be used in the show which need cleaning up after every performance. Fridge storage is required for the cake each night.
Tealight candles are used as part of the performance. They are placed upon audience tables and blown out by performers during the show. The stage manager will be responsible for .re safety in the venue.
Depending on venue licensing restrictions, we would like to sell sake to audience members prior to the performance within the auditorium.
